Medifil II™ are spherically designed collagen particles, packed in vials to enable convenience
in application. The particles' smaller diameter provides excellent contact and increases the rate of absorption, rendering
improvement in recovery of wounds.
Properties of Medifil II™ Particles:
- Super-absorbent (absorbs 40-60 times its weight)
- Breaks down
to amino acids.
- Creates an environment which may be conducive to the normal
healing process.
- Non-enzymatic debriding agent.
- Removes the exudate and particles that impede healing and tissue repair
- Allows
gaseous exchange
- Reduces inflammation, edema and scarring
Common uses of Medifil II™ Particles:

Precautions
- Do not pack the wound tightly; allow for
expansion of the particles.
- Wounds may appear larger during the first few days
of treatment due to reduction in edema.
- Treatment of the underlying condition
(venous or arterial flow, pressure, etc.) should proceed concurrently with the use of Medifil II™particles.
- Unused particles lying near the wound area(s) should be discarded.
- Should
not be used on patients sensitive to materials of bovine origin.
- Some adverse
reactions such as transitory pain, bleeding, blistering, edema and erythema occasionally have been reported in isolated cases.
